Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are returning to the Golf Channel Games as captains for a second straight year.
The competition is scheduled for Dec. 16 at Trump National Golf Course in Jupiter, Fla.
There will be two four-man teams anchored by Scheffler and McIlroy. The team rosters and challenges will be unveiled later. Golf Channel and USA Sports will telecast the competition.
During the inaugural Golf Channel Games last year, Team Scheffler narrowly earned the win after a sudden-death, closest-to-the-pin competition from 47 yards featuring the two captains. The other golfers at last year’s event were Luke Donald, Keegan Bradley, Shane Lowry, Sam Burns, Luke Clanton and Haotong Li.
Other competitions from last year included a 14-club challenge, a team relay race and a timed driving showdown.
Scheffler, currently ranked as the world’s No. 1 golfer, has won 20 PGA Tour events in his career, including four majors. McIlroy, the No. 2 ranked golfer in the world at the moment, has notched 30 PGA Tour wins overall and six major titles.
