The Athletics acquired left-hander Jose Suarez from the Seattle Mariners on Thursday for cash considerations and designated outfielder Junior Perez for assignment.
Suarez, 28, has posted a 0-1 record and one save with a 6.38 ERA in nine appearances (one start) this season with the Mariners and Atlanta Braves. He was 0-1 with one save and a 6.61 ERA in eight appearances with the Braves before receiving a no-decision in his lone relief outing with the Mariners.
Suarez is 22-30 with three saves and a 5.34 ERA in 115 career appearances (63 starts) with the Los Angeles Angels (2019-24), Braves (2025-26) and Mariners.
Seattle acquired him off waivers on May 3.
Perez, 24, hit .210 with five homers and 19 RBIs in 36 games this season with Triple-A Las Vegas.
