The Chicago White Sox activated right-hander Huascar Brazoban from the 15-day injured list prior to Sunday’s game against the visiting Detroit Tigers.
Brazoban, 36, was placed on the injured list on Aug. 25 with a left lat strain. He has a 6.30 ERA in 10 relief appearances with the White Sox since being acquired form the New York Mets on Aug. 3. He has surrendered 12 hits, six walks and two home runs with five strikeouts over 10 innings with Chicago.
With the Mets, Brazoban compiled a 5-2 record and 2.56 ERA in 46 appearances.
Also on Sunday, the White Sox optioned left-hander Chris Murphy to Triple-A Charlotte.
Murphy, 28, is 3-0 with one save and a 4.81 ERA in 33 appearances (three starts) with Chicago this season.
