Ottawa Senators forward Shane Pinto signed a four-year, $30 million contract extension on Thursday.
Pinto, who turned 25 on Wednesday, was in line to become a restricted free agent after this season. The extension begins with the 2026-27 campaign.
Pinto has 14 points (eight goals, six assists) in 17 games this season and is averaging a career-high 19:23 of ice time per game.
He has totaled 121 points (59 goals, 62 assists) in 221 career games since being selected by Ottawa in the second round of the 2019 NHL Draft.
“Shane is an important part of our core and we are pleased to have him with us for the foreseeable future,” Senators general manager Steve Staios said. “This is a great opportunity for this group to grow together.”
